The Oscars were full of many unexpected wins in various major categories. In fact, Oscars 2019 came at a monumental time, following the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe ceremonies, which were seemingly the attitude of the Industry towards women. The Time’s Up campaign ruled the acceptance speeches and red carpet in the year 2018.
From the presenters, red carpet arrivals and performances to winners’ nominations and the standout moments, you might have identified something new or important. If you missed everything about the Oscars, here are the hairstyles you would have noticed.
Lady Gaga
Speaking of beauty, Lady Gaga was certainly the most anticipated arrival in the Oscars and she gave us something to be excited about. Similar to her look during the Grammys, the makeup, from stylist Tanno Kept Lady Gaga’s, kept her soft and fresh. Hairstylist Frederic Aspiras outdid himself with the sculptural updo that reminded us of Audrey Hepburn at the Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Hepburn wore Lady Gaga’s 129-carat yellow diamond necklace when promoting the classic film.
Danai Gurira
Danai Gurira, the Black Panther star glowed positively on the red carpet. Possibly, that was due to the luminous skin, the glossy nude lips, and the gilded jewellery – including the graphics crown, which might be her most favourite hair accessory. To come up with the appearance, her hairstylists including Larry Sims decided to split the hair into smaller sections and apply Biolage Styling Texture Sap on the roots to keep it in place at the edges. They also cornrowed her hair strands from the face.
Amandla Stenberg
The sharp wings of Amandla Stenberg provided us with good makeup. However, hairstylist Vernon Francois worked to develop a gorgeous braided updo that had most of us swooning. The braids swoop across the forehead to provide an illusion of the 1920s finger waves in an interesting manner, thanks to the braids texture and the warm woven highlights.
Yalitzia Arapacio
Yalitzia Arapcio was a first time nominee in the Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma, and surprisingly, she stunned in an outstanding seafoam green Rodarte gown. Speaking of her beautiful look, the actor chose to keep her long hair down and her artist Carissa Ferreri used soft pink shades as the makeup for her eyes, lips, and cheeks. Ferreri listed the products she used on her Instagram post.
Rachel Weisz
When looking for affordable hair salons in Brisbane, you might need to keep Rachel Weisz hairstyle in mind. When it came to hair accessories, Rachel Weisz chose the Cartier’s vintage piece that dates back to 1903 – that is according to Kate Young, her hairstylist. Perched on the straight strands (parted at the middle), the accessory kept the effect modern and sleek. The stylists wanted her hair to remain flat and to feature diamonds. Before they ironed the hair, they had to mist it to keep it smooth.
Regina King
Regina King won the Best Supporting Actress for the role she played in the “If Beale Street Could Talk”. She was among the best-dressed in her white Oscar de la Renta dress. The wavy lob and the soft cat eyes from artist Latrice Johnson provided her with an enhanced appearance.
